Practical guide

How much does an online restaurant ordering system cost?

The costs of an online ordering system do not just consist of the visible monthly price. Restaurant owners should also consider commissions, contract duration, set-up services, payment fees and internal maintenance costs separately. This guide shows transparent testing logic and classifies the three GastroSprint plans.

What are the costs of an online ordering system?

The price of an online ordering system includes more than the basic monthly fee. Depending on the offer, commissions, fees from external payment providers, additional services and internal operating expenses are added. A low starting price means little as long as the included range of functions and the order-dependent costs are missing.

GastroSprint Direkt is available from 64 euros net per month. No additional percentage GastroSprint order commission is charged for direct orders via the GastroSprint shop. The contract term is one month. Growth complements the online ordering website with its own restaurant app and costs 119 euros net per month with a three-month contract period. Complete complements Growth with the modular restaurant website and costs 149 euros net per month plus 499 euros net one-time setup, also with a three-month contract period. The individual offer that a restaurant receives before the contract is concluded is binding.

Which types of costs should a restaurant examine separately?

Separate five types of costs for the comparison. In a single total it is difficult to see later where additional costs come from.

  1. Fixed system price: the regularly charged basic fee for the online ordering website and administration interface.
  2. Order-dependent commission: a percentage or fixed amount that accrues with each order.
  3. Payment processing: Fees from an external payment provider for credit card, PayPal or other online payment methods.
  4. Facility and additional services: for example website creation, individual media or additional work outside of the plan.
  5. Internal effort: Time for menu maintenance, availability, opening times and processing incoming orders.

These costs do not change in the same way. The fixed system price remains the same, a percentage commission increases with the sales generated. Payment fees apply for the corresponding payment methods. Additional services should be stated as a one-off amount or according to scope. The amount of internal effort depends on the operation and responsibilities in the restaurant.

What is included in the GastroSprint direct monthly price?

GastroSprint Direkt includes your own mobile online ordering website and a protected restaurant dashboard. In addition, there are the described functions for delivery and collection. Restaurants can maintain products and extras, configure delivery zones, manage opening hours and edit order statuses. The controlled AI menu import is also part of the plan.

GastroSprint Direkt is available from 64 euros net per month. The specific offer price does not change with the number of orders. This allows you to plan the software price as a fixed monthly value. There is no percentage GastroSprint commission for additional direct orders.

A complete list of the services currently described is available on the site Features. The Price overview separates included and optional services and should be used as a current source for subsequent product changes.

What additional costs may arise?

Restaurants without a suitable professional website can choose GastroSprint Complete. The package combines the modular restaurant website with the online ordering website and app for 149 euros net per month plus 499 euros net for a one-time setup. The website scope follows the standardized GastroSprint system; Individual extensions outside of this scope will be agreed upon separately.

AI-generated product images are an optional, paid additional service. The price depends on the agreed scope and is not a flat rate part of the monthly plan. Before placing the order, note how many images are needed, how the approval will work and whether later additions will be charged separately.

Fees from external payment providers are also not included in the GastroSprint monthly price. They arise during payment processing and are not a GastroSprint order commission. Before starting, the restaurant checks the activated payment methods, the conditions of the respective payment provider and how refunds are handled.

How do you objectively compare fixed price and commission?

Calculate both offers with the same monthly order volume and the same average shopping cart. First write down the fixed monthly price and then calculate the sales-dependent costs with the expected direct order sales. In comparison, a one-off service that is used for a longer period of time should not be completely delivered in a single month.

For a commission-based offer, the basic calculation is:

  1. Determine the number of orders per month.
  2. Set average order value.
  3. Multiply both values to the average monthly turnover.
  4. Apply the contractually stated commission rate to this turnover.
  5. Fixed basic fees and additional contractual costs.

For GastroSprint Direkt, the starting price of 64 euros net is used in the calculation example. No additional percentage GastroSprint commission is added to direct orders. The Savings calculator on the homepage uniformly expects an average order value of 32 euros and an assumed portal commission of 14 percent. These assumptions illustrate a scenario and do not replace the actual portal conditions or an individual contract offer.

Why is the contract term a cost factor?

The contract term determines the minimum amount of time a restaurant will pay the regular price. A cheap monthly value can become inflexible due to a long commitment or rigid termination dates. Therefore, always read the price and term together.

GastroSprint Direkt has a contract period of one month. For Growth and Complete, the contract period is three months due to the higher setup effort. Before concluding the contract, the restaurant should check the specific offer for termination provisions, start of services and individually agreed additional work.

The introduction time is also part of the planning. Menu, delivery areas, opening times and responsibilities must be coordinated before the online ordering website can be operated reliably. The guide Introduce online restaurant ordering shows what information is required before starting.

Which questions belong in every offer?

The monthly values alone are not enough for a useful comparison. Clarify in writing what is included and how the price changes:

  • Is the online ordering website included in the monthly price?
  • Is there a percentage or fixed fee per order?
  • What delivery, pickup and menu features are included?
  • What payment fees does an external provider charge?
  • Are there any setup, training or support costs?
  • What contract term and termination regulations apply?
  • Who maintains prices, products, availability and opening times?
  • What optional services are offered based on effort?

This means you don't compare offers with different scopes of services based on a single number. A fixed price is neither automatically cheaper nor is a commission automatically more expensive. Calculate a realistic order volume and check whether the range of functions suits the business.

When is it worth having your own direct channel?

It makes sense to have your own direct channel if guests already reach the restaurant via the website, Google company profile, social networks, flyers or packaging. These contact points can lead to your own online ordering website. GastroSprint does not charge a percentage of the direct order for this.

Whether this is worthwhile depends on the restaurant in question. Order volume, shopping cart, payment methods, delivery costs and operational costs differ. When making your decision, use a transparent scenario with your own figures instead of a blanket savings promise.
